Celebrity news: Celeb Susan Boyle Heads to the Hospital
It was a shocking announcement when she was named as runner-up on the “Britain’s Got Talent” show over the weekend, and now Susan Boyle has checked herself into a private clinic in London, England.
According to a rep, “Police were called to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act. The woman was taken voluntarily by ambulance to a clinic. At the request of doctors, police accompanied the ambulance.”
“Britain’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan spoke to Boyle shortly before she went to the hospital and reported that she is “fine” and has “gone in for some rest. She needs to get away from everyone- get away from the show, from the media, the public, and just have a bit of downtime to herself.”
Morgan continued, “She had too long to wait between the audition show and the final, and the pressure just builds and builds and builds. It’s been crazy; she has gone from anonymity to being the most-downloaded woman in history. But nobody, and I stress this, has had to put up with the kind of attention that Susan has. And no one could have predicted it – so we entered uncharted territory.”

Celebrity Gossip: Celeb Susan Boyle is Still in the Running
She’s been an international hit ever since her audition for “Britain’s Got Talent” back in April, and Susan Boyle is still going strong in the talent competition.
The 47-year-old Scotswoman was spotted leaving ITV Studios yesterday (May 24) sporting a yellow blouse with a beaded necklace, black trousers, and black shoes.
Earlier in the day, Miss Boyle hit the stage for the semi-finals, singing “Memory” from the musical Cats and drawing a standing ovation from the judges and audience alike.
Simon Cowell addressed her, “You are one special lady, I have to say, you really are. You know what, I just want to apologize because of the way we treated you before you sang the first time. You made me and everyone else look very stupid and I’m very happy for you, very proud for you.”
Susan replied, “It was really good tonight, I really enjoyed it ... I’m very happy to be here and thank you all for your support.”

Susan Boyle: Moving Up in the World
Ever since her breakthrough performance on “Britain’s Got Talent” Susan Boyle has become an instant superstar. And this morning (April 22) she was spotted coming home from running errands in Blackburn, Scotland.
Boyle sported a less-bushy look following an eyebrow-plucking session as she pulled up to be greeted by a mass of paparazzi. And according to the shutterbugs on the scene, Susan also had a piece of paper with Oprah Winfrey’s PR agent’s phone number on it.
According to “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Amanda Holden, Boyle’s appeal comes from her nonchalant look, something that she shouldn’t change just because she’s famous.
“People want the average woman who shows you dreams are still possible and that hopes will still happen for you. If we made her with big toothy grin or bouffant-y hair, it would kill who she is standing for. Whether she knows it or not, she is standing for the average person in the street. I am sure she will comb her hair and have a bit of [lipstick] on. But she won’t be going under the knife or anything like that!”
