Hollywood News: Natalie Cole Loses Sister During Kidney Surgery
Our hearts go out to her and we hope Natalie Cole is able to cope peacefully during this difficult time.
According to reports, the “Unforgettable” singer, who struggles with kidney disease, was with her cancer-stricken sister, Carole “Cookie” Cole when she received a call saying that a donor kidney was available to save Natalie’s life.
Natalie’s other sister, Timolin Cole, tells the New York Post, “She said, ‘What do you mean? I can’t deal with that right now! I’m here with my dying sister!’ ” But the doctor insisted that Natalie be at Cedars Sinai hospital within two hours.
Cookie, who had been diagnosed with lung cancer just the week before, died during Natalie’s surgery, Timolin said. “This is all so surreal, and it is devastating.”
